To
master poker and make it profitable, you must first master
patience
and discipline, as a lack of either is a sure
disaster
regardless of all other talents, or lucky streaks.)
Starting
hand Strategy.
This
is one of the most important parts of becoming a
winning
texas hold em player. Most people overlook how
important
selecting starting hands is, I can assure you that
being
selective of the hands you play is VERY important!
Choosing
if you play a hand or not is the first decision you
make
at the poker table every time a new hand is dealt.
since
you don’t have to play every hand you get, this is why
poker
is different than blackjack, you decide what you want to
play.Since
you have a choice you must choose wisely.
Deciding
what starting hands you play can be hard sometimes,
a
lot of good players can get board or angry and play hands
that
they know they shouldn’t. This is why I like Online
Poker,
I can watch TV, Read a book, or play a few games at one
time.
This is the way I prevent becoming board and playing bad
hands,
you should think about doing this too.
Most
playable hands can be placed in groups related to their
value.
Every hand in the same group has approximately the
same
value as the other hands in that group. Here are the 4
top
groups,
Group
#1: AA, KK, QQ, AKs*, AQs
Group
#2: JJ, 1010, AJs, KQs, AK
Group
#3: A10s, KJs, QJs, J10s, AQ
Group
#4: 99, 88, K10s, Q10s, J9s, 109s, 98s, AJ, KQ
"s" Represents "suited"
Other
hands that may be playable are:
1.Small
Pocket Pairs, Usually you just want to see a flop with
these
hands. If you don’t make 3 of a kind you fold them.
2.
Suited aces, An example would be Ace of spades and 8 of
spades.
For the most part you are just playing to hit a
flush.
3.
Hands that add up to 20 or 21, This could be hands like A9,
J10,
A10. Even if there not suited.
